Cargo Handling in Ports

Course Details

This is an open-access qualification and no prior qualifications are required. However, a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy will be required to be successful.

Additional info:
Successful candidates will receive a certificate accredited by IOSH, the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and 'endorsed' by Associated British Ports, the UK's leading ports business and Team Humber, the Group Training Association for the Humber Ports.

Progression:
For those already working as a port operative, a NVQ Level 2 Port Operations would be appropriate,with an IOSH Managing Safely Course or an NVQ Level 3 Supervision of Port Operations ideal for those port operatives who have supervisory responsibilities.
For those who looking to work as a port operative, progression would be to take a basic forklift course, which would then give the individual the basic qualifications to be able to work as a port operative. Introductions to prospective employers can be given to successful candidates.
