Entry Requirements
There are no formal requirements for entry to this course. However, students are expected to have a basic knowledge of electrical science.

Suitable For

This course is for skilled craftspeople. It is aimed at Electrical & Building Services Engineers, Managers, Contractors and Craftspeople who require guidance in the application of the Regulations to all types of Electrical Installation and who need to demonstrate knowledge of the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Course Content

There are eight outcomes relating to parts 1-7 of appendices of BS7671:2008 and candidates need to have an understanding of:

• Scope, object & fundamental principles
• Definitions
• Assessment of general characteristics
• Protection for safety
• Selection & erection of equipment
• Inspection & testing
• Special installations or locations
• Use of appendices.

Method of Assessment

Assessment is through a two hour online multiple choice exam. Candidates will require a non-programmable calculator.

Progression

Successful students can progress onto City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing. Grantham College currently offers this course during daytime and evening sessions.
