Childrens Care, Learning & Dev. Level 2 NVQ
This course provides the skills and knowledge required to work in a supervisory role in a child-centred environment including nurseries, schools and after-school clubs.

Course Content:
In the first three terms students will complete a four-unit technical certificate covering the underpinning knowledge, skills and understanding required for the NVQ Level 2 in Early Years Care and Education. In the final term students will complete the practical assessment for the NVQ Level 2.

Awarding body:
Council for Awards in Childrens Care and Education (CACHE).

Entry Requirements:

• Candidates must be aged 25 or over
. However, you must be working in a childcare setting under supervision in face-to-face roles with children, young people and families. You must also have the support of your employer or supervisor.
• Acceptance onto the course is subject to a successful interview
.

Entry Process:
An interview with the course tutor will be arranged at the earliest opportunity after receiving your application.

Assessment:
An approved assessor will visit you in your workplace to assess your practical competence, knowledge and understanding. You will need to submit a portfolio to show your competence in all areas of the award.

Progression Routes:
The course leads on to the CACHE Level 3 Apprenticeship in Early Years.

Career Options:
Successful students will find employment opportunities within a wide range of early years settings.
