About this course
All candidates must hold an appropriate Level 3 qualification in Electrotechnology, such as the City and Guilds 2360 Part 2 Certificate or City and Guilds 2330 Level 3 certificate and the City and Guilds 2382 (IEE Regulations) Certificate post 2008. You will need to provide documentary evidence of these qualifications before enrolling on the course.

Course Details
This qualification is intended for fully qualified electricians, working in the electrical installation sector, with experience in inspecting, testing and certifying electrical installations. It is not intended to instruct inexperienced persons in inspection and testing techniques. Successful candidates are awarded the City and Guilds 2391 certificate in inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations. This certificate is a nationally recognised qualification for those seeking employment as an electrical inspector in the electrical installation industry. The theory sessions cover the underpinning knowledge requirements for the written examination including: Preparation for Inspection and Testing Inspection requirements Testing requirements Certification and Reporting It is important to realise that no practical training will be given in Inspection and Testing Techniques as candidates are expected to have relevant industry experience in this field which the course is designed to assess. Assessment: You will be required to undertake a 2 hour written examination covering the underpinning knowledge requirements of the course and a 3 hour practical assessment to assess your inspection and testing skills at the end of the course. In order to successfully complete the course you must pass both components.

Course length:
The course is one evening per week for 12 weeks to prepare you for the examination and practical assessment at the end of the course.
