About this course

Level 3 qualification in Playwork or show an understanding and skills equivalent to it. An ability to study and evaluate playwork theories, current legislation and thinking in regards to children and young people's play. This course is suitable for candidates who have management or developmental responsibilities within the various fields of play.

Course Details

Students study 4 mandatory units: Work with colleagues and other partners to develop an organisational framework for play Develop, manage and review operational plans for play provision Establish and develop working relationships Reflect on and develop practice Students also choose 5 units from a list of 13 options, covering a wide range of management and development issues. Quarterly workshops will be run to provide support, for discussion groups, for research and to help with projects being undertaken by the candidates.

Qualifications required:
Level 3 qualification in Playwork or show an understanding and skills equivalent to it. An ability to study and evaluate playwork theories, current legislation and thinking in regards to children and young people's play. This course is suitable for candidates who have management or developmental responsibilities within the various fields of play.

Community Venues and Hull College

Course hours:
Equivalent to 4 hours and workbase learning. Attendance will also be expected at quarterly workshops at the college.
