About this course
All learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling.
In order to complete the full qualification learners must have Level 2 in Adult Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent qualification such as GSE or GCSE A to C in English and maths.
Prospective learners will undertake an initial and diagnostic assessment to assess their ability to undertake the programme.

Course Description

This is not a certificate to teach Basic Skills.
Course Structure
The course consists of 2 mandatory core units:
- Unit 001 - Literacy, language, numeracy and ICT needs for word, education and life.
- Unit 005 - Supporting Learners
2 other units are then chosen from a range of 6. Learners will also be required to undertake a minimum of 8 hours placement within a Skills for Life class
