Course Description
The course is aimed at learners seeking a first qualification in the practical use of
computerised accounts. Potential candidates should have an adequate understanding of the terms used in basic book-keeping
Course Structure
Part time 2 hours per evening, one evening per week for 10 weeks.
Candidates will learn how to complete the following:
- add new accounts to purchase/sales ledgers
- create accounts in the nominal ledger from given information
- process information in respect of the sales ledger, ie invoices, credit notes and receipts
- process information in respect of the purchase ledger, ie invoices, credit notes and
- payments
- calculate and reconcile all batch totals as required
- print out copies of ledgers, balances and accounts as required
Assessment is by a one hour examination which will take the form of a case study.

Course Progression
There are many courses you can progress on to including City & Guilds L2 Computerised Accounts, IAB Level 1 or 2 in Bookkeeping or AAT Foundation NVQ Level 2
Course Career Prospects
Accounts/Finance clerk or after further progression there may be job opportunities to become an accounting technician.
