New team leaders or supervisors who want to develop their skills in leading a team. You will also need to join the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for the duration of the programme. The membership fee for the Award in Team Leading is 70, paid direct to CMI.

Introduction
The CMI Award in Team Leading is a nationally recognised qualification designed for practicing or aspiring team leaders who wish to develop their team leading skills and knowledge.

Description
At the end of the course delegates will: Understand the work objectives and the skills and knowledge required to meet those objectives Be able to agree, implement and review the development plan to meet work objectives Understand the team leaders responsibility for health and safety in the work area Understand the team leaders responsibility in relation to discrimination, harassment and diversity. To be able to achieve the above objectives delegates will complete one module: 1.Personal development as a team leader However, to better suit the needs of their job role delegates can swap the above module with one of the following: Team communications - 21.4.10 for 3 weeks Controlling resources - 10.3.10 for 4 weeks Building working relationships - 12.5.10 for 4 weeks Team development - 10.2.10 for 3 weeks Providing customer service - 16.6.10 for 4 weeks Team performance - 14.7.10 for 4 weeks

Duration
One evening per week over 5 weeks. Other delivery options include 3 days over a week, or 3 Saturday's - dates available on request.

Method of Study
Workshops with a mix of taught sessions and practical tasks. The formal assessment is one assignment of 1500 - 2000 words which will include a written report, personal development plan and presentation.

Progression
Certificate or Diploma in Team Leading.
