Course Overview This course has been designed for those who wish to develop the skills and knowledge to use draughting and design software packages. The level of study can be utilised for a wide range of applications where technical and design functions are required. This course is ideal for new users.

Qualification gained: Level 2 Certificate in 2D CAD (4353-01)

Course Content: This course covers 8 learning outcomes: Use associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems, Use basic file management techniques and maintain health and safety requirements, Use and identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment, Use a range of viewing commands and set up the drawing space, Use drawing commands to produce shapes, Use the CAD software's co-ordinate system to aid accurate drawing, Use hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines, Use basic editing commands and produce simple hard copies.

Course Assessment: The assessment includes two assignments and a multiple-choice test. The test will be delivered on-line.

Progression: Level 3 Certificate in CAD (2D Computer Aided Design) (4353-02)

Homework: It is useful to practice outside the lesson time if possible.
