About this course

This course is a Level 3 course and is a natural progression from Clait Plus. Alternatively student's should be able to prove IT knowledge at a similar level or hold an equivalent certificate (please check with the course tutor if you are not sure).

Introduction
ECDL Advanced is the next level on the ECDL certification path, building a more extensive skill set to underpin knowledge gained from the ECDL course in specific areas and allowing the candidate to demonstrate ability above and beyond basic levels. The ECDL Advanced Presentation syllabus further develops knowledge and competence attained in ECDL

Description
The course is primarily intended for those aiming to reach, or already working in, a position of responsibility and autonomy; for example, senior secretary/PA or junior manager. The course's aim is to assess a student's ability to use a range of IT facilities. There are five assignments which will be completed throughout the course including, Understanding IT, Creating IT Solutions for Other Users, Managing IT Resources, Word Processing and Spreadsheets. The Word Processing and Spreadsheet modules can be used towards the Microsoft MOS award.

Duration
This course takes place once a week, for 3.5 hours each session, over a 17 week period.

Method of Study
This is a tutor guided course, with workbook exercises and handouts. You maybe required to do homework to help consolidate your studies.

Progression
Those people who wish to broaden their IT User skills in the workplace will be able to progress sideways to the NVQ in Using IT at Level 3. Candidates may also progress to the NVQ Level 4 in NVQ Managing IT Systems.
