Course Details

The BTEC EDEXCEL First Diploma in Engineering is designed to provide a broad foundation in Engineering at a technician level. The course will introduce you to new practical skills that can be used in the world of modern engineering. It will also prepare you for further studies on higher level engineering courses by providing a solid in-depth knowledge base to build upon. Content: - Working practices - Using and interpreting engineering information and science - Maths for engineering technicians - Preparing and controlling engineering manufacturing operations - Selecting engineering materials - Using computer aided drawing techniques in engineering - Selecting and using secondary machining techniques to remove material - Engineering marking out Assessment is by internal assignments that are designed to meet appropriate unit criteria. All students will require a scientific calculator for this course.
