Course Description
The aims and objectives of the course are to provide learners with an understanding of safety at work, basic principles and processes applied to plumbing, hot and cold water systems including above ground drainage and customer relations and environmental awareness.

Course Structure
To achieve this award, learners must complete the 6 mandatory units
  • Unit 1 Safety
  • Unit 2 Basic Principles / Processes
  • Unit 3 Cold Water Supply
  • Unit 4 Hot Water Supply
  • Unit 5 Above Ground Drainage
  • Unit 6 Customer Relations / Environmental Considerations


Course Entry requirements
All learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling.

Applicants must possess either GCSE passes at grade C or above in Maths and English or achieve level 2 at initial assessment.

Course Progression
Successful candidates can progress on to the technical certificate and level 2 NVQ in plumbing.

Course Career Prospects
  • If students find employment within the industry during the course of study they can be transferred over to our Modern apprentice scheme (if eligible)
  • The course is the first step in the quest to becoming a qualified Plumber/Gas Engineer and working within the construction sector
