Course aims:
This course is for electricians who need to update to the 17th Edition wiring regulations (BS 7671: 2008) and who obtained their 16th Edition qualification in 2002 or earlier. It is also suitable for Domestic Installers who need to obtain their regulations qualification and for Engineers for whom this qualification is a requirement.
The course covers all the parts of the 17th Edition and prepares you for the multiple choice exam at the end of the course.

Course content:
This course looks in detail at the electrical wiring regulations and how they affect our work as electricians. It will also discuss the changes from the 16th to the 17th edition regulations.

Facilities for students:
This course is based at the Main Campus for City College in the heart of Brighton. The Electrical Section is in a purpose-built unit, with modern, well-equipped workshop facilities and classrooms with computers. There is an excellent cafeteria service in the Tower Block and central Brighton with many cafes etc is on our doorstep.

Tutors:
A small, committed and experienced team of lecturers and assessors. All our staff are qualified and experienced electricians. We have a mixture of fulltime and part-time staff.

Assessment: There is one multiple choice exam which is open book. The student is expected to provide their own copies of BS7671: 2008 (approx 65) and the On-Site Guide (approx 20) for the exam.
