Part Time GCSE Mathematics (Evening) (S) This course is for you if: You need to gain a grade C or B in GCSE Mathematics for further career prospects or admission to a course in higher education and you have a commitment to improving your maths abilities.

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.
About the course: Your Mathematics lecturer will guide you through the course each week and provide homework to ensure you practice the work covered in class. Topics studied at intermediate level are: - Numbers - Fractions - Approximations - Everyday Mathematics - Proportion and Variation - Statistics and Probability - Graphs - Algebra - Trigonometry - Geometrical Drawing Mensuration - Transformations At a higher level the same Mathematics topics are studied further and there are a number of extra topics to be studied.
Assessment: There are two externally marked theory papers each worth 40% sat in June and two internally assessed assignments worth 20%. A cousework examination is included and accounts for 20% of the final mark. Examination entry is dependent on work done throughout the year and the result of tests done in January and April.
