Aims:
This course is designed as an introduction to prepare for work or further study related to involvement with people and groups. It will be of interest to people who are or who would like to be involved in community work or the voluntary sector.

Part-time August to June over 2 years.

This award enables students to apply to the 2nd Year of BA Community Education at the University of Glasgow and at the University of Strathclyde.

Careers:
This course is currently the only professionally endorsed HNC Working with Communities in the West of Scotland and as such is highly regarded by employers.

Requirement
. Two Highers, one of which should be English, and three Standard Grades or an appropriate group of SQA Modules. . Mature students may be admitted without formal qualifications. Practice Competence Requirements: . Direct entrants MUST provide evidence that they have achieved the level of competence in community/voluntary work required for entry. . They may do so by a variety of means, e.g. through acquiring appropriate qualifications or certificates, e.g. National Certificate Modules in a related area e.g. Community Development, or through the provision of detailed references from their employer or an organisation for which they have worked in a voluntary capacity.
