What qualifications will I need?
This qualification is ideally suited for those candidates who have a genuine interest and passion in the care and welfare of horses.
What will I be learning about?
Pushing, pulling, bullying and whipping are just some of the methods that people resort to in desperation with a horse that is tricky to load. Whilst this may eventually get your horse loaded for the journey, it never resolves this issue and the ritual will need to be repeated every time you want to travel the horse. This is such a common problem but an easy one to get right every time. Learn about pressure and release and how to use it when loading, as well as ensuring the environment you are loading in gives both you and your horse the best chance to succeed. We will look at common loading problems such as rearing, running backwards, planting on or at the bottom of ramp, and how to deal with each of them. If you get this right your horse won't even need to be led up the ramp, it will just follow.
