Course description
Have an idea for a film or TV show but don't know where to start? Want to write the next Wire or Slumdog Millionaire? This course will provide you with the tools you need to turn that movie or TV show in your head into a workable and sellable script. Over the course of eight weeks you learn how to tell if a story will work on screen, how to create compelling characters, how to structure your script, how to write strong scenes with believable dialogue, how to sell and market your script and how to deal with criticism of your work. This course is for people new to film and TV screenwriting, offering a step-by-step approach to writing a script from inception to completion through a series of discussions, film and TV screenings and class exercises. There will be short week by week assignments alongside your main projects.
