Is it right for me?
Are you working in the horticulture industry and need to obtain a qualification? This course covers the underpinning knowledge and some of the assessments required for the NVQ award, and is run in conjunction with the Apprenticeship scheme. The qualification is completed in your workplace by visiting assessors or by employer witness testimonies. The completion of this evidence is expected to take between 12 and 18 months.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years.

Core units:

• Horticultural machinery
• Plant identification
• Ground preparation and plant establishment
• Health & Safety

Plus 3 optional units to suit your current workplace experience.

What materials are required?
Steel toe'capped boots, overalls. Writing equipment.

How will I be assessed?
Building a portfolio of evidence.
