Course Description
To provide young people with a basic introduction to beauty therapy techniques

Course Content
Week 1 · Introduction and Ice breaker · Discussion on salon code of practice and health and safety procedures.
Nail Art - students will learn a range of nail art techniques and practice a file, polish and nail art on each other preformed tips
Week 2 · Manicure · students will carry out a mini manicure on each other and complete the look with nail art.
Week 3 · Skin care- Students will carry out a skin analysis and mini facial using appropriate products.
Week 4 - Make-up - Students will be taught how to apply make-up for a day time look and then practice on each other. College does provide make-up but students may bring their own if they wish.
Week 5 · Clients Award Certificate - Students bring a client and practice a facial, manicure and make up. Students are awarded a certificate of attendance and discussion progression.

Method of Assessment
There are no formal methods of assessment. Students will be observed throughout the practical work shops with feedback provided.

Equipment and Additional Costs
Students to pay £1.50 per week for products.
