Access award.

Applicants will also need to provide evidence of English Language skills as demonstrated by:

A pass in English Language at GCSE, grade C or above; or
A Level 2 in Communications Key Skills or equivalent.

We also welcome mature applicants who do not meet standard entry requirements, providing they can show suitability to the course and a desire to succeed.
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
What can I expect on the course?
You will receive excellent tuition and academic support from barristers, solicitors and legal academics.We provide
much smaller classes than are to be found at most London universities, enabling our tutors to provide a much higher level of individual support and personal attention
in a warm and caring environment. Successful completion of the LLB (Hons) Degree will provide you with a means of access into the legal professions, for example (solicitor, barrister, legal
executive and paralegal).

How is the course structured?
The LLB (Hons) Degree is modular, with four modules typically taken per semester or part-time equivalent. During the course
you will study seven legal foundation subjects and five optional modules which allows you to pursue your own interests.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed via oral presentations, (which may be either group or individually-based), a portfolio of assessed
work including reflective practice, written assignments, seminar participation and end of semester exams. Continuous
assessment will allow you to monitor your progress on a regular basis.

The seven legal foundation subjects studied on the course are: Contract Law, Criminal Law, Equity and Trusts, Land Law,
Public Law, European Union Law and Tort. In addition, you will cover modules on the English Legal System, Studying Law, and
Law and Morality. Over and above this,a range of optional modules are available including Company Law, Employment
Law (Individual and Collective), Women and the Law, Sale and Supply of Goods, Wills and Intestacy, Family Law, Child Law
and a Law Project.

What are the career opportunities?
An LLB (Hons) Degree will enhance your employability even if you do not intend to practise as a solicitor or barrister, but
wish to enter other employment where legal knowledge is useful.
Our new qualifying LLB (Hons) Degree course is delivered in collaboration with London Metropolitan University. All tuition will take place at Croydon Higher Education College.We are able to offer both full-time and part-time (day and evening) study and are designed to be parent-friendly with day-time lectures and seminars taking place between 10.00am and 3.00pm and evening classes commencing at 5.30pm.

We aim to provide detailed knowledge and understanding of legal rules and their contexts, and develop your employability
skills which will prepare you for a range of legal and non-legal careers. You will also gain experience in practical legal
research and problem solving.
