Content It is designed as an introductory course for those who are interested in working as a volunteer in the classroom, or who require an introductory course before progression onto a Level 2 Teaching Assistants qualification. The award consists of three mandatory units: â ¦ Unit 01 Develop professional skills and knowledge â ¦ Unit 02 Understand legal and national requirements â ¦ Unit 03 Provide activities in the classroom The award aims to: â ¦ develop candidates confidence and motivation â ¦ develop practical classroom skills â ¦ explore the role of a classroom assistant â ¦ provide progression into the NCFE Initial Training for Classroom Assistants (Stage 2) or the NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Assistants. A CRB check is required and students need to complete a minimum of 12 hours voluntary placement during the course.
