Course Details

The NOCN Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design is a practical course. In order to successfully achieve the qualification in art and design, students must complete a total of two mandatory units and ten optional units. Alternatively, in order to achieve the qualification with an endorsement in a specialised area, students must complete a total of two mandatory units, five optional units and five units specific to the chosen endorsement. This course is designed to build on students general art and design skills, specifically skills in drawing, painting, basic colour theory and ideas development. Endorsed routes are subject to specialised area tutor consultation at interview/enrolment.

Qualifications required:
A strong interest in art and design and examples of work. Related Level 1 qualification or other Level 1 qualification.

Completion of on-line applications are not necessary. Due to the nature of the activity, informal one to one guidance is preferred to ensure correct entry onto courses. Therefore please contact the Art and Design Office directly. Advice on material costs will be provided at enrolment.

Progression:
On successful completion of the NOCN Diploma in Art and Design students can progress to AS/A2 Levels in Art and Design or may consider progression to the OCN Access Diploma (Art and Design).
