Introduction
This is a nationally recognised and flexible qualification from City & Guilds which enables candidates to gain a qualification that is related directly to their job role in the Care sector. It is aimed at assistants who carry out personal care and assist elderly people or those with learning disabilities.

Description
You will be appointed an assessor who will plan with you and assess you in the workplace. There are 6 half day underpinning knowledge sessions taught at College which will cover aspects of Health and Safety, Personal Care and Communication.

Duration
6 months to 1 year

Method of Study
Assessment in the workplace by a qualified assessor. The candidate will compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence and knowledge.
