ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be employed in a Teaching Assistant role.
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This a nationally recognised NVQ qualification and is for those who work with pupils individually or in groups under the supervision of a teacher in education and leanring support environment who wish to gain a recognised qualifcation.

This course is work-based and learners will be assigned to a qualified and experienced assessor who will visit them in their work-place. Together learners will complete a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their competence as a Teaching Assistant and their underpinning knowledge.


PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of this course learners can progress
on to higher level qualifications such as Level 4 qualifications, subject to individual university or Higher Education college requirements.


EXCURSIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE During the award it is expected that you will be working in a school, supporting and assisting the teacher in the classroom. You must complete 60 practice hours per unit.
