There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but candidates need to be working within a retail environment and must be competent in a significant variety of retail work activities.

Suitable For

Senior sales assistants, team leaders, supervisors and managers within the retail sector. The aim of this NVQ is to recognise your skills and competencies in a retail environment.

Course Content

You must achieve 6 units - 1 Mandatory and 5 Option Units. There are a range of option units that fall under different headings, such as Stock Management; Produce Expertise; Sourcing; Merchanidising; Management and Leadership; Customer Service; Finance and Administration and Organisational Effectiveness.

Method of Assessment

All assessment takes place in the workplace. Methods used include: observation of the candidate carrying out their role; witness testimony; physical evidence from the workplace; knowledge and understanding.

You will be allocated an assessor who will judge the evidence of your performance, knowledge and understanding against the units of competence in order to determine whether you have demonstrated competence at this level.
