Is it right for me?
If you have little or no previous experience and are looking for a practical course, this course will start with the basics and then enhance your skills to give you the confidence to undertake jobs at home.

What qualifications will I need?
Interest and enthusiasm. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What will I be learning about?

• Introduction to hard landscaping tools
• Mortar mixing, mixes and foundations
• Basic techniques for bricklaying, brickwork, dry stone walling and paving
• Introduction to woodwork and the tools used

What materials are required?
Steel toe'capped boots/shoes and overalls. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What is next?

• National Certificate in Horticulture.
• National Diploma in Horticulture.

How will I be assessed?
No formal assessment.
