Ideally, students should have a Level 3 qualification in a related area, such as Health and Social Care. People who do not hold the necessary entry requirements may still be eligible for entry to the programme if they have work-related experience.

Entry to the Programme?
How is it assessed? Various assessment techniques are used to assess students work. This ranges from report writing, assignments, compiling portfolios of evidence and undertaking timed, multichoice, question papers.
Future prospects? On completion of this Foundation Degree students will have the opportunity to "top-up" their qualification to a BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Practice at Edge Hill University. They will also be well placed to aid and enhance their employment with their recognised Public Health qualification.
When will the programme start? The programme will start in September 2010
How long will it take? It will take between two and three years to complete, dependent upon the mode of attendance (full or part time study). Full time study will require attendance of two full days per week - part time attendance being a half day or evening per week.
What about the Money? St Helens College is committed to providing value for money higher education programmes, therefore programme fees for Honours Degrees and Foundation Degrees for 2010/11 will be 2,100* per year for full time programmes.
How do I apply? Complete an application form and return it to Student Services, you will then be asked to attend College for an interview. Full time applicants will need to apply via UCAS.
