Standby Vessel Crew Initial Training Shipboard Operation (ITSO)

About this Course: Optio Approved Aim of Course
To meet the initial training and assessment requirements for all prospective Standby Vessel (SBV) crew members

Validity of Certificate
12 months unless part of an operational SBV crew, involved in an ongoing onboard development and training programme for SBV Master and crew

Course Content
  • Donning and using Personal Protective Equipment
  • Preparing, deploying and re-stowing Fast Rescue Craft (FRC), casualty recovering devices, casualty handling devices and communication equipment
  • The use of casualty recovery devices etc.
  • Receiving, assessing, treating, caring and transferring of casualties
Personal Equipment Required
  • 1 pair of cotton overalls
  • 1 change of clothing
  • 1 pair of safety boots/shoes
  • Personal Wash kit
  • Waterproof clothing
  • Proof of identity such as Passport/Discharge Book/National Insurance Number/Driving Licence

IMPORTANT: Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend your course and have to cancel please give us as much notice as possible. Should the Company/Delegate inform FOSC prior to the commencement date of the course they will be given the opportunity to transfer to another available date. Should a second transfer be required a £50 administration fee will be payable. All fees are strictly non-refundable except when the college cancels the course. Delegates failing to attend on the commencement date of the course will be charged/invoiced the full course fee.

Funding Information
