COURSE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
There are 2 main sections to the course:

PC Support Environment
You will learn various aspects of computer technology and customer care that will allow you to join job roles related to PC Support. You will be able to:

  • Identify functions of various components of a personal computer system
  • Briefly explain Health and Safety related issues including disposal of used parts
  • Identify issues that affect customer care
  • List various security issues related to home and business computers
  • Assemble, install and maintain a desktop computing system.
  • The main outcomes of this unit are:
  • Identify parts and peripherals of a PC
  • Dismantle a PC
  • Assemble a PC
  • Install an operating system, drivers and applications on a PC
  • Maintain a PC, peripherals and software


ASSESSMENT
This is based on practical assessments.
All units are internally assessed.

WHERE COULD THE COURSE LEAD?
Students may progress to Diploma for Systems Support.
