Is it right for me?
Anyone interested in gaining a wider knowledge of wildlife and conservation within a range of UK habitats will enjoy this course, which will include visits to see Dorset's unique wildlife over the spring and summer when the full array of species is bursting into life. Visits will be supplemented with talks by prominent local ecologists and wildlife specialists.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years. Interest and enthusiasm. Ability to write short essays. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What will I be learning about?

• Ecosystem description and analysis
• Species interactions
• Farming and conservation
• Countryside legislation and access including CRoW 2000
• Identification of flora and fauna
• Visits to a range of Dorset habitats
• National and international case studies on wildlife conservation

What materials are required?
Suitable outdoor clothing and walking shoes.

Full time courses: National Diploma in Countryside Management or Certificate HE Landscape Conservation

Assignment. Species identification tests. Examinations.
