About this course
Students should have a GCSE grade C in Science and a GCSE grade C in either Maths or English. Students should also meet the general college entry requirements for advanced level study. Please refer to the current Prospectus - advanced programmes, entry requirements.

Course Content
Unit 1
Anatomy: movement analysis including bones, muscles and joints. Heart and circulation. Respiration.
Skill Acquisition: learning and developing skilful movement.
Contemporary Studies: issues connected with sport in society and history of sport.
Unit 2
Practical Coaching.
Practical activity assessment.
Unit 3
Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Sports Psychology.
Factors which affect the development of anelite athlete, includes media, sponsorship, hooliganism, Olympic and World games.
Unit 4
Practical Coaching and Practical Assessment.
Club level in one sport.
