·         Plans to facilitate residents’ abilities and to meet their needs through the confident and   competent use of the organisation’s care planning tool

·         Recognises the need for confidentiality and data protection

·         Explores reporting and recording methods

·         Plans for facilitating decision making and appropriate risk taking

 

Ageing Process and Attitudes

·         Assists learners to understand the theories of the ageing process

·         Explore the myths and stereotypes of ageing

·         Recognises the impact of ageing on an individual

·         Promotes positive attitudes towards ageing

·         Establishes the concept and implementation of anti-discriminatory practice

 

Communication

·         Explores the process of communication

·         Assists learners to reflect on the effect of interactions on a persons behaviour

·         Facilitates discussion of the role of behaviour as communication
