For staff who are new to delivering personal care, this course covers the basics of providing intimate and personal care to people in an experiential way, to help staff to understand how it feels to give and receive personal care. Candidates will pick up hints and tips on various aspects of providing personal care.
Learning outcomes and objectives
- To understand the basics of eye, mouth and ear care.
- To learn how to assist someone to dress if they have a physical disability.
- To appreciate the sensitivities involved in delivering personal and intimate care.
Full day courses usually run from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
