The PgD/MSc programme is a one year and six month programme of study. It is divided into two major qualifications. The first part of the programme is the Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business Information Technology (PgD) which is awarded by NCC Education. The second part of the programme is the MSc Degree in Strategic Business Information Technology awarded by the University of Portsmouth.
The PgD/Msc Strategic Business Information Technology programme examines the relationship between computing and business. Through research and teaching, the programme creates new knowledge and a deeper understanding of the role of technology in business.
The programme prepares students for a senior IT business role by providing them with management skills and an understanding of the IT issues affecting business today.
To gain the award of MSc, the student must first complete the NCC Education Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business IT(PgD in SBIT). After completion of the PgD in SBIT students must complete the two top up MSc modules which includes a project.

Assessment:
The Postgraduate Diploma is assessed by coursework and there are no written examinations. MSc is assessed by dissertation.
Entry Requirements
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree in IT or equivalent, or;
- A non-IT degree with a minimum three years of work experience in an IT environment with some management or supervisory experience, or;
- Five years of work experience in a relevant IT environment with management or supervisory experience
- If the students’ first language is not English, a minimum TOEFL score of 580-600 or IELTS 6.0-6.5(or their equivalent) is required.
