Course programme
The course falls into two parts: the first covers classical philosophical topics such as conscious, personal identity and free will; the second covers various aspects of selfhood, bringing philosophy into contact with sociology, psychology and the politics of identity.
The course will be taught using a variety of methods as appropriate, including short lectures, class discussions, small group work, whiteboard, OHP and video screenings. There will be the opportunity to participate in quizzes and other informal assessment procedures during the class. Students can ask for feedback about progress from the tutor at any time.Additional information
