About this course
GCSE in Photography or a demonstrable equivalent. An interview with the course tutor is required. To progress to A2 a successful completion of the AS and a successful interview are required .

Course Aims:
To expand the knowledge and skills in photography which students developed on the GCSE Photography course. Those who have successfully completed their AS can progress onto A2.
Course Content:
The course includes: black and white printing, colour printing, black and white developing, darkroom and studio work. Work is mainly practical, with some theory on dark room and photographic techniques.
Progression:
Students may return to the course to complete thier A2 in Photography. The College also offers a range of part-time and full-time programmes in various Art & Design disciplines, including courses in Photoshop.

Exam:
Students need to complete six to seven assignments and a thesis of around 2000 words. The assignments are set by the tutor and there is a controlled test at the end of the course which is externally moderated.

AS Photography or (if completed AS) A2 Photography

Other Costs:
Students should have the use of a camera for this course. There is a materials fee for the chemicals, equipment, etc. Students will be expected to provide their own photographic film and paper, which can be purchased form the College.

Three hours per week over 30 weeks.
