Summary
A two year programme. AS is achieved in the first year and A2 in the second. A course which explores creativity through photography
About the Course
This course will develop your visual communication skills where emphasis is placed on the meaning, uses and functions of photographic images. Throughout the course, you will explore the following:-
- Process - the types of photographic shot, viewpoint, angle and composition. Camera operation and technique
- Development and Printing - film types, speeds, grain etc. Paper types, surface qualities, tone, contrast etc
- The Manipulation of Image - lasers, lighting, distortion, superimposition and solarization
- Critical and Historical Studies of the Photographic Development - investigating photographers and photographic movements.

What are the entry requirements?
How is the course assessed?
Three assessments for AS, 1 practical research project and an 8 hour control test.
A2, during the year you will be required to undertake a specialist project, a personal study and a 12 hour control test.
