Cultural and Creative Industries - Photography

Study Method:
This Foundation Degree in Photography is a full-time course delivered over three days a week. There will be a variety of study methods with an emphasis on practical workshops in the colleges well-resourced photographic studios and darkrooms.

Who the Course is For:
The course is designed for those who are looking to pursue a career in the exciting and challenging field of photography. We offer an exciting opportunity to gain experience and a recognised Higher Level qualification to be validated by a local university partner.
Assessment:
Assessment is though practical tasks and academic writing. There are no formal examinations on the programme. There are opportunities to relate assessment tasks to your own research interests.
Course Leads To:
Internal progression to a BA (Hons) Photography at Barking College is available or you may wish to progress onto a BA (Hons) programme at another higher education institution. The programme also prepares you for employment in the industry through work placement, the creation of a photographic portfolio, and exhibition.

Applications will need be at least 18 years old and should have at least one of the following qualifications: National Diploma in Photography or two A Levels (including a creative subject). Mature students with appropriate experience and educational attainment will also be considered. All applicants will be interviewed and given the opportunity to present a portfolio of their work. Content:
This exciting new course will equip you with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the photographic industries.
The course will be delivered through a range of practical workshops, lectures and seminars, visiting guest lecturers, and educational visits. Alongside preparing you with the necessary skills and professional knowledge you will also develop your critical and analytical thinking skills.
The program will be delivered by practising professionals from a range of disciplines including fine-art, fashion, social documentary and advertising photography, and is subject to validation by a local university.
