The Programme
The course covers a variety of both photographic and other visually related subjects. It is designed to ensure students have a solid grounding in visual language and image making practice before they progress to Higher Education or employment. The National Award and Certificates can be taken as part of an A Level programme.
The Programme Content
Year 1
Through a variety of set assignment and briefs, students explore and experiment with a range of technical and visual skills both in digital and traditional photography. You will also gain knowledge and understanding of the historical context of Art and Design, which will complement and inform your practical work.
Year 2
The 2nd year offers students the opportunity to explore areas of their own choice. In addition to the practical portfolio building, students study and produce materials to prepare them for life as a student of Higher Education or for life in the photography Industry.
Progression / Careers
The National Diploma in Photography is worth three A Levels. This course aims to prepare students for a wide range of work within the Photographic Industry and develop the conceptual breadth and visual ability necessary for entry to Higher Education.
