What will I be learning?
The BTEC National Diploma is equivalent to three A levels and will be studied on a full time basis. How will I learn?
In each unit you will be given practical and written assignments
which will be graded at pass, merit and distinction level. Later in the
course you will have a final major project to pull together all of the
knowledge and skills you have developed. The lessons are a mixture
of taught classes, presentations, demonstrations and workshops.
What else might I want to know?
You may be required to provide or purchase some media storage materials. The Media Section offers a variety of voluntary trips, residentials and visits to media companies and screenings.
What can I do afterwards?
The BTEC National Diploma prepares students for direct entry into employment or for progression to Higher Education at Universities or at South Devon College. After successful completion of the course students may choose to specialise on further courses in areas as varied as film making; advertising; film editing; broadcast journalism or media studies. Specialist career advice in the media will be provided.
