Course Content: Learn about the immense possibilities of digital imaging: experiment with drawn and photographic images - combine them, introduce or change colour, create montages, use type and incorporate special effects. Introduction to Digital Imaging, file formats and image modes. Image manipulation including tonal and colour adjustment. Combining images and creating photomontages. You will also be using the Type Tool to create graphics.

Special Features: Each student will work with on their own computer. Whiteboard presentation, step by step instruction, supervised practical work and reference notes.

Course Format: Student work is assessed on a continuous basis with students completing various assignments and coursework, which are compiled into a portfolio for the award.

Progression: You may wish to consider progression onto a FT art and design course or onto the digital photography course.
