Application followed by individual interview

Content / Overview:
You will learn to develop knowledge and understanding of scientific facts, concepts and relationships and to appreciate their significance and the relevance of science in everyday life. You will develop good practical skills in designing experiments, intepreting and evaluating data. You will study a range of topics from the very small - quarks inside the atom, to the very large - the formation and history of the universe. Some topics you will have touched on at school, some you will encounter as new topics such as quantum mechanics, cosmology and fundamental particles. Feedback from students consistently indicates that they find the course enjoyable, fun and challenging. Student progression on to physics-related courses at university is well in excess of the national average.

Delivery Method:
Practical activities, reserach, presentations, discussions and quizzes. You will be assessed with regular tests.

Assessment:
80% exam and 20% practical.

Progression:
Degrees in physics, medicine, engineering, architecture, computing, optometry, finance and many others.
