Planning and Deploying Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003

Target Audience
This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary for SMS specialists to plan and deploy Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 into large enterprise environments. It is intended for systems engineers with one to three years of experience supporting multiple desktop and server computers running Microsoft Windows in medium to large enterprise organizations, and who have a need to plan an SMS deployment.

Pre-Requisites
Before attending this course, students must have the following pre-requisites:Completed Course 2596, Managing Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, or have equivalent knowledgeCompleted Course 2279, Planning, Implementing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Active Directory Infrastructure, or have equivalent knowledge.

Purpose
After completing this course, students will be able to analyze business requirements for SMS; create and evaluate an SMS deployment plan; plan an SMS site hierarchy; install the Site hierarchy; configure a site system; discover SMS resources; install SMS clients; configure SMS site hierarchies; secure an SMS site; create a management and operations plan.
