The Apprentice will learn the correct method of cutting and fixing plasterboard, and preparation of surfaces, in readiness to receive backing plasters, sand/cement, and other Gypsum based plasters (the application of plaster to damp-proofed areas.

Course Content
The programme is offered as an Apprenticeship and involves four days a week training in a construction environment and one day attendance at College. The Apprentice will learn the correct method of cutting and fixing plasterboard, and preparation of surfaces, in readiness to receive backing plasters, sand/cement, and other Gypsum based plasters (the application of plaster to damp-proofed areas, silicon injected, and Bitumen based products). Key Skills will also need to be achieved, as well as developing a portfolio of work.
Progression
Many Apprentices progress to the Advanced Apprenticeship, or may go on to higher level qualifications.
