SVQ Level 3 Plumbing


SCQF Level 6 & 7

DESCRIPTION:
Ideal course for learners employed within the industry undertaking formal training to attain plumbing registration papers (training to be a plumber).

SVQ Level 3 Year:
1-12 Weeks at 35hrs per week

SVQ Level 3 Year 2:
10 Weeks at 35hrs per week

SVQ Level 3 Year 3:
6 Weeks at 35hrs per week

In addition learners are required to undertake ACS Domestic Gas Training & Assessments.

CONTENT:
Introductory Unit | Cold Water | Hot Water | Central Heating | Domestic and Sanitary Plumbing Electricity | Installation Practice | Admin and Quality | Fuel Com | Ventilation and Flues | Short Lead Work.

Programmable Logic Controllers PLC
This course has been designed to outline the major components of a P.L.C. and their dynamic relationship. The course will identify the use of a range of programming functions.

Content:
P.L.C. applications | Development of P.L.C programs | Preparation of P.L.C documentation | Produce and run P.L.C programs | Selection and connection of controlling devices | Control using P.L.C programs with appropriate interfacing | Use of PLC's as an aid in logical fault diagnostic procedures | Use of PLC's to diagnose and indicate illogical plant conditions. The above course is delivered utilizing up to date software and hardware currently being used in industrial applications.Allen Bradley Micrologix 1000 hardware.RS Logix 500 and RS Logix 500 emulate software.

Qualifications and Progression:
Learners will gain an NQ unit qualification and may progress to a HNC module which would utilize Allen Bradley Compact Logix 5320 hardware and RS Logix 5000 software and would be run over the same duration.

The course is available to run as a twilight course or a night school course dependant on applications.
