Course programme

- Build and practise playing triads derived from all major scales
- Learn to invert the triads (chord voicing) and add 7ths
- Introduction to chord symbols and how to interpret them
- Introduction to the cycle of fifths as a vehicle for practice
- Play together in class and keep strict time
- Modal harmony as it appears in the pop repertoire.

You will be taught in a keyboards room with each student at a digital piano. Exercises and tunes (accompaniment) rehearsed and played as a group. Playing together is vital to this style of keyboard playing (imitating a band situation). Listening to examples. Your own practice between classes will be essential if you are to progress.
