About this course

This course is the ideal preparation for a career teaching in settings such as FE colleges, secondary schools, sixth form colleges and academies. The PGDE is also invaluable for anyone working with training providers, in offender learning/prison education, or in the voluntary sector.

Once you have successfully completed this course, you will be eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status via the Society for Education and Training.

By completing the PDGE, you will gain 120 credits at masters level to fast track your progress and position you for leadership roles.

You will need to hold an undergraduate degree (minimum of 2:1) in the subject area in which you intend to teach (or a related area).

You will also need a level 2 qualification in English and Maths as approved by the Society for Education and Training.
