To enable you to develop and integrate the underpinning theory and practice to prepare you as a registered health professional to prescribe safely, appropriately and cost effectively under the professional regulations pertaining to the appropriate drug formulary.

These fees relate to new entrants only for the academic year indicated for entry onto the course, any subsequent years study may be subject to an annual increase, usually in line with inflation.


Applicants must either be a Level 1 Registered Nurse or a Registered Midwife.

Applicants must be supported by an NHS Trust or equivalent employer.

The minimum academic entry requirement is at level 6, so students need to provide evidence of ability to study at degree level (in any subject). For students wishing to complete the module at level 7, they should generally possess a BSc or BSc (Hons) degree. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) will be considered on an individual basis as per the University’s RPL guidance.

Students will be required to undertake a DBS check which is arranged by the sponsoring or seconding organisation. This will be checked by university tutors during admission and recruitment process.

Self-funded:

If you are paying for the fees yourself then the fees can be paid in 3 instalments: November, January and April. More information can be found by clicking here.


Sponsored - Your employer, embassy or organisation can pay for your Tuition fees:

Your employer, embassy or organisation agrees to pay all or part of your tuition fees; the University will refer to them as your sponsor and will invoice them for the appropriate amount.

We must receive notification of sponsorship in writing as soon as possible, and before enrolment, confirming that the sponsor will pay your tuition fees.


Financial Hardship:

Students can apply to the Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund for help with course related costs however this cannot be used for fees or to cover general living costs.
