Introduction
Welcome to Part 2!
In this short video we introduce the following lessons and reflect on the value of knowing ourselves through the study of personality and behavior. Awareness
Awareness is our fundamental beginning - it is what we are and what we return to. All external change begins with a change in Awareness. In this first lesson, we start the journey toward understanding ourselves with a crucial first step - getting in touch with with the timeless, eternal and changeless that is our Source and true nature. BONUS Resource: Plato's Allegory of the Cave
This is an ancient tale (and an amazing one at that, considering how long ago it was conceived) about Awareness. It is a classic, and I've found a well made cartoon video depicting the story in visual form. Enjoy:
The 3/2 Brain preview
In this next lesson, we begin to create the foundation of human behavior by analyzing the brain through two particular perspectives - lateral and vertical. This is what is meant by "The 3/2 Brain". These two perspectives paint a picture of our drives and modes of interpreting the world that we will further use to deepen our understanding in the following lessons. BONUS Resource: The Split Brain Experiments
The link below is to an article that describes the psychological experiments discussed in the lesson regarding left and right brain coordination. Very interesting stuff.
Roger Sperry's Split Brain Experiments
Inherent Nature
In this lesson we do a deep dive into the arena of personality and drives. By combining several popular thought models on these topics into one perspective, we can divine an important conclusion about our general nature, tendencies, Duality and our quest for personal freedom to live a Dynamic life. BONUS Resources:
Personality Tests & Longitudinal Study
The following are detailed articles on the mental models for personality, human needs and drives that we explored in this lesson. Remember that personality is an incredibly robust topic and I highly encourage you to explore and learn, but don't obsess :)
Longitudinal Study on Personality Changes Throughout 50+ YearsDISC Personality History & Information
Human Needs, Abraham Maslow and Manfred Max-Neef
A Phenomenal Article on The Human NeedsFisher Temperament Index (FTI)
The Opposite Instinct
Now that we have a fuller understanding of ourselves and our inherent drives, it's time to look at our Opposite. From here we can gain powerful tools for self-mastery, success, partnership and freedom as we learn what it means to balance both our strengths and that which is not obvious to us.
Virtuous & Vicious Cycles
In this lesson we revisit the Principle of Duality and its impact on our behavior through Virtuous and Vicious Cycles. Understanding the relationship between two things, like attitude and behavior, and how those two things become either productive (Virtuous) or unproductive (Vicious) will give us a powerful tool to observe and change that which isn't serving us anymore.
Creation
"You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” -Jane Goodall In this final lesson on understanding ourselves we turn our attention to an age old question: what is the purpose of life? By re-examining our own creativity and how we align with the Principle of Creation, we can gain some valuable insights about maintaining a happy and fulfilled life. Creativity is not just about art, dancing or music - it is all around us in every moment. Join the symphony in your own way and partake in this amazing gift of life with your song.
BONUS Resources: Professor Nassim Haramein lecture on spirals, phantom DNA and creation
This video, among many of one of my favorite modern physicists, Dr. Nassim Haramein, explains with beautiful detail the concept of spirals, phantom DNA and the cyclical nature of The Dance of Life present throughout all creation. Enjoy :)
A second, short video about the Torus, the fundamental pattern of all creation that is infinite, flowing outward and constantly outpouring. Just 2 minutes and it will blow your mind:
Part 2 Wrap-Up

BONUS Resource: he 6 Human Needs by Tony Robbins
This is a classic power talk by Tony on his discovery of the 6 human needs. He does a phenomenal delivery with personal anecdotes and detailed explanation on how these needs shape our emotions and behavior. Very engaging and extremely informative. It is on the longer side (~1 hour) but I highly encourage you to listen to it.
