Course programme

The course contains four assessments covering the six Units detailed below: Unit 1 - Principles of Personal Responsibilities and Working in a Business Environment You will develop an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers as well as the health, safety and security in a business environment. You will also look at ways of communicating effectively, improving your performance and dealing with problems. Unit 2 - Principles of Providing Administrative Services You will look at a range of administrative services including, handling mail, use of equipment, managing diaries, travel and meeting arrangements and using a telephone system. Unit 3 - Principles of Managing Information and Producing Documents This Unit explains the purpose of IT in business and outlines the procedures for producing documentation that is useful for the business. Unit 4 - Principles of Supporting Change in a Business Environment You will gain a thorough understanding of why changes happen and how to respond to them. This Unit also covers the importance of responding positively to changes in a business environment Unit 5 - Principles of Supporting Business Events You will learn about the importance of business events and your roles and responsibilities in such events. Unit 6 - Principles of Project Management You will develop your understanding around project work in this Unit, by looking at the difference between routine and project work. You will also learn how to prepare and plan for a project and how to monitor and evaluate your own work.
